Notes: They asked us to answer three questions--- 1. What were the conditions around your peak leaning experience? 2. What will the world be like 20 years from now? 3. What skills will your child need to be successful in that world?

There are a variety of organizations, professional and academic, that support project learning. One idea is to take concepts from the corporate workforce and try to teach those in the classroom. One result of the research done to achieve this is 21st Century Learning Initiative.

3Rs X 7Cs = 21st Century Learning

OK, so here are some of the things I got from this presentation: *Project based learning helps student integrate in a flat world *Project based learning is motivating to the students. *The role of a teacher is mentor, facilitator, and guide rather than the source of knowledge. *They showed a great example of student work completed through Project Learning

I would have liked to see more specific examples of ways to implement Project Based Learning. I felt like the presentation was more about ThinkQuest and Think.com than Project based learning. While these are both free to education, they are Oracle products and the slight "push" was definitely there. I would have liked to here about some specific classroom strategies.

I feel that the presentation

I feel that the presentation was strongly influenced by Oracle and the Thinkfinity project. However, I disagree that there was not some examples of how to implement project based learning in your classroom; you just have to take your top three-percent (3%) of your students (no more than six or seven (6-7)) and have them partake in the Thinkquest Project. I did not see represented any American students. There was great global collaboration between the students featured, I can see the future being this bright, but there was no American students pushing this envelope.
